Property Description

What's on your checklist for the ideal Hill Country vacation? Is overall location important to you, or a list of amenities and activities available? Do you value privacy, but would still like the opportunity to meet new people? The Cardinal Cabin in the Nest Cabin Resort hits the sweet spot, bringing all those factors together for an amazing vacation getaway! It's close to Pipe Creek and Bandera, as well as popular local parks and rivers, in a private setting that also allows for socializing!

Embark with us on our amazing Hill Country Eclipse Journey! By astronomical luck, the Hill Country will be in the path of total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. We have 125 great vacation homes in the region, covering 21 Hill Country towns, all in the eclipse "bullseye." Experience the enchantment of the darkest night skies, while witnessing the finest solar eclipse viewing in the Hill Country.

We'd like to point out from the get-go that each cabin at The Nest Cabin Resort comfortably accommodates up to three people. However, it's important to note that this is a good-sized resort, and there are several vacation cabin rentals available here! If you're looking for great kid-friendly Hill Country lodging for a larger group, please contact us for more information on space options and booking availability.

The big red barn at The Nest is not only a beloved local landmark, but it serves as a welcoming centerpiece to your Hill Country escape! The cabins at the resort are arranged in a staggered diagonal pattern for a specific reason: to allow privacy to guests when they want it. The Cardinal Cabin has its own shaded porch with comfy outdoor furniture that are just perfect for sipping coffee in the morning. Mountainous Hill Country views surround the entire resort, and the Cardinal Cabin even faces west for a good look at those vivid and colorful sunsets!

Along with privacy whenever you'd like it, you'll also have the chance to mingle and meet your fellow travelers at The Nest! The resort has fun, conversation-encouraging meeting spaces like a pavilion with multiple picnic tables and a crystal-clear and refreshing swimming pool. Strike up a game of cornhole (bags), bring your footballs and frisbees and take advantage of the big grassy field in front of the cabins, or try your hand at precision axe throwing! (axe throwing is at your own risk and The Nest does not supply axes) We invite out guests to enjoy themselves, but do to so responsibly; a signed release of liability is required, both for your protection and ours. Smokers are welcome, but are asked to keep it outside.

Natural light accents the airy and light woodwork inside the Cardinal Cabin, and AC, heating, and ceiling fans keep the interior space just right all year round. You'll have a roomy and plush king-sized bed and futon, and a full bath with a big and immaculate shower stall-and clean bed and bath linens are provided, too. The full kitchen features a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink, along with dishes, silverware, and cups, and you can kick back and relax on both traditional and bar-style seating. Tech and entertainment extras include local-channel TV .

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country.
