Property Description

Location is everything, they like to say in the business world. That also applies when you're looking for a great vacation home in the Hill Country, and the Texas Blue Apple Cottage in Medina fills the bill nicely! Its picturesque small town/country setting is kid and pet-friendly, and it's close to Medina River access, Lost Maples and Hill Country State Natural Areas. While you'll enjoy the peaceful perks of the location of your "home base," great Hill Country towns like Bandera are close by!

Medina is the Apple Capital of Texas, so there's no better name for this beautiful sky-blue guest home than the Texas Blue Apple Cottage! What's more, Medina's Love Creek Orchards and Apple Store are next door to the Texas Blue Apple Cottage, for a unique fresh-air orchard experience, country store, patio cafe, and even a pumpkin patch in the fall. If you run into any locals at the Apple Store, tell them you're staying at the former home of Elayne's Hairstyling, and they'll know exactly what you mean; she was a familiar face and popular stylist in Medina for years!

The Texas Blue Apple Cottage has recently been remodeled, and its brilliant blue and white exterior gives it a storybook vibe the moment you approach. Behind the home, there's a wooden deck with outdoor furniture, a great place to sip morning coffee, discuss your day, or kick back and decompress. Kids and pets can expend their almost boundless energy in the backyard, and there's also a charcoal grill for tasty Texas-style cookouts.

A rustic ranch theme fills the interior, with barn-style doors and beautiful hardwood flooring. The spacious living area includes a large and comfy couch, which faces a Roku-equipped smart TV. For connectivity, there's Wifi service and a large table for when you need to be online. The full kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, a dining room table that seats six guests, and all the cooking and serving ware you'll need at mealtimes. There's central air and heat for year-round comfort, and even a washer and dryer to help you keep up with laundry!

With a plush and comfy queen-sized bed in the bedroom, a soft sofa bed in the living area, and an additional queen-sized blow-up mattress, the Texas Blue Apple Cottage offers restful accommodations for up to six. Both the bedroom and full bath are furnished with fresh linens for your stay. Speaking of the bathroom, we love the reactions we get from our guests when they first see the shower stall; its shower head is a watering can! It's one of the unique touches that make our visitors fall in love with the place.

Pamper your family with the wonderful small-town setting of the Texas Blue Apple Cottage. We can't wait to hear from you, so we can help make your Hill Country holiday a reality.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

Rachel
Such a wonderful place to stay in Hill Country! Medina is such a quiet, peaceful town and is not far from Bandera or hiking in Garner State Park and Lost Maples. The home itself was cozy, well furnished/supplied, and easy to access. Nothing over the top or fancy which was perfect for me as I was really only there in the evenings between hikes! I loved that the home is dog friendly. I did not have the greatest cell service (this was due to the location being in Hill Country) but the home has WiFi so I could keep in touch with my loved ones. The host does provide information for an app that gives details about the towns, stores, and sights in the Hill Country area which was helpful for planning my trip.

Wonderful place to stay! It was my second stay at this Airbnb and I will be back! Everything you need is at the location and there is a great place to eat next door with amazing apple pie.
Lisa
The wonderful place to stay with easy access to Kerrville, Bandera, and other Hillcountry towns. The Apple Store and restaurant is right next-door, and their apple pie and ice cream are amazing. Everything you need is provided, communication was fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Jeff
House was very clean , very accessible !! Fit our needs perfect.
Kris
Very quiet and cozy. Easy to relax in. With a short drive you can find tons of things to occupy your day with and come back to relax and the property. I will definitely be staying again in the future!

We stayed here for a little Christmas getaway. The cottage was very cozy and comfortable, the location was perfect. This is definitely a nice little gem hidden away in Medina. The location is perfect for exploring the hill country, and also just short driving distance of larger cities such as Kerrville and San Antonio. The cottage was nicely furnished , and well stocked with all the essentials and then some. I loved the bathroom, especially the shower. We definitely look forward to coming back again.
