Property Description

One of the aspects of the Texas Hill Country that attracts travelers is its access to beautiful natural settings, and a great way to enjoy them is a getaway to Lucky Star Ranch Starlight cabin near Hondo! There are plenty of farm animals to pet and visit here, and the ranch is centrally located for day trips to a number of state parks and natural areas in the nearby neighborhood. When you factor in towns like Bandera and Hondo close by, you're really getting all of the best of the Hill Country!

Lucky Star Ranch Starlight cabin is a must for nature lovers, with its trees and Hill Country views! What's more, though, is the Hill Country State Natural Area is just three miles down the road; it's a wonderful place to hike, ride horseback, and admire wildlife. The Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park are both within an hour's drive from your cabin, as well!

It's hard to find a more animal-friendly vacation rental than Lucky Star Ranch Starlight cabin! The friendly goats, chickens, and ducks on the property love to be pet, and one of the "stars" is a dwarf Nigerian goat named Baby, who won first place in the Bandera 4th of July Pet Parade. There are horses you can pet, too, but not ride; however, boarding is available for your own horse. Check with us for details; a negative Coggins test is required. You can bring along a pet, as long as they get along with farm animals and are leashed on the property; limit one pet per cabin.

Amenities begin before you even enter your guest cabin! There's a shaded porch with rocking chairs for relaxing outside, perfect for morning coffee or a nightcap. Picnic tables and a charcoal grill are here for your favorite BBQ recipes, and a fire pit (firewood included) for s'mores and conversation. Laundry facilities are also available. Keep in mind outdoor extras and games are shared with two other cabins at Lucky Star. If you'd like to bring a larger group, the three cabins here sleep up to nine!

Golden woodwork and natural light fills Lucky Star Ranch Starlight cabin's interior, arranged in a studio layout with a bedroom, dining nook and kitchenette. The plush queen-sized bed sleeps two, and you can add a rollaway bed for one more person. The kitchenette includes a fridge, a microwave that doubles as a regular oven, a Keurig coffee maker, and basic utensils and serving ware. A Roku-ready smart TV is on hand, too, as well as Wifi service and efficient heating and cooling units. You'll have a clean full bath with a shower stall, and fresh linens are provided for both bed and bath.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

We spent thanksgiving in the cabins and it was the perfect place to reconnect and express gratitude! The only thing I regret is having to check-out and go home! Detail and attention went into this cabin. We enjoyed all of the amenities, we played with the animals, sat by the fire, watched the sun set on the bridge. The bedsheets and towels were pristine. I could go on but my words won’t do it justice!! This is a MUST STAY!!
Annetta
Cabin was perfect. Just like the pictures Everything was clean and comfortable. Great location to Hill country state park. Easy drive to Bandera. The owners made it so easy with communication and are so nice. Will definitely stay again.
Kenneth
This was absolutely the best stay we have ever had on air bnb. They put so much thought into their cabins to accommodate their guests as well ensure that everything is spotless. The property itself was easy to find with a very detailed text that gives you everything you need so that little interaction is needed so that check in is super easy. It is so close to the hill country state park that it’s easy to enjoy the beautiful area. The property is owned by an amazing family that only want to make your stay the best experience you can have. They also have very friendly animals that you can walk up to and pet or admire from a distance. The bed was extremely comfortable and they have Tv that allows you to watch many channels. There is a restaurant up the road that has amazing food and sells wine and beer. I enjoyed my stay and will be back soon!

This place was very lovely and comfortable. It was peaceful, and the stars at night were pretty. We met the host, who was really nice and introduced us to a baby goat! It was a great stay, and we would happily stay there again.
Cecilia
I absolutely loved my stay at Lucky Star Ranch! It is the perfect escape while being conveniently located to hiking and charming hill country towns. James and Traci were warm and welcoming and truly care after their guests. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
