Property Description

Upon first glance, the exterior evokes the log cabin days of our American pioneers! A closer look tells you the rustic Doe Creek Horse Ranch near Bandera is loaded with comforts and amenities that combine nostalgia and modern luxury in a kid-friendly and pet-friendly family guest house getaway. The ranch is eight acres of Hill Country heaven in a rural setting, that's only a couple miles down the road from the Cowboy Capital of the World. Here's where you make the most of your Hill Country vacation!

Doe Creek Horse Ranch is private and gated for our guests, pets and the ranch's donkeys, Lyle and Lovett. Its pastures are being restored to feature native flowers and grasses, and nature lovers will be delighted with the wildlife they'll spot. You'll find two patios with comfortable outdoor furniture; they're great shaded spaces for conversation, wildlife watching, or admiring the colorful Hill Country. There's even a ranch-style country tub for an outdoor soak, and a daybed for a fresh-air nap. The back porch has outdoor lighting for a touch of nighttime magic, too!

Doe Creek Ranch is a horse-friendly vacation rental! Pictured on its barn is the cowgirl who built the ranch; she competed professionally in the riding event called "reining," and is shown sliding to a stop from a full gallop. Equine amenities include three available stalls, and a 60-foot round pen with a lighted ceiling and sand floor so it can be enjoyed day or night, in any weather. The ranch is a two-mile ride to Bandera, where horses and riders are welcomed! Guided trail rides are available there, so guests can explore the Hill Country in traditional cowboy style on horseback. Ask us for details on bringing your horses to this equestrian paradise! What's more, with the country byways surrounding the ranch, you can take a scenic motor tour, often without seeing any other vehicles.

Woodwork inside draws the eye, from ceiling beams to barnboard highlights to paneling that projects a warm glow. All is kept comfortable with central air, heat, and ceiling fans, along with a stone fireplace. There's plenty of cozy seating in the living and dining areas, and Wifi service keeps you connected. There's also a smart TV in the master bedroom, so bring along your Roku or use streaming apps for entertainment!

There's restful lodging at Doe Creek Horse Ranch for up to five: a king-sized bed in the upstairs master suite, king-sized bed in the downstairs bedroom, and a single bed in the living area. There's also a hammock-style rope bed, more suited for naps than overnight use. All sleeping spaces include clean linens, as do both full baths, each of which feature a tub/shower combo. You'll have the use of a full kitchen, complete with appliances, cooking and serving ware, and even a convenient washer and dryer.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

We stayed here with an infant and 2 dogs while in the Bandera area for a family wedding. I was so amazed that we had so much space and privacy while also being so close to town. The reservations company was easy to communicate with and their app did make it really easy to find all the necessary information for check in and check out. The groundskeeper, Lynn, is a very sweet woman and made us feel very welcomed and cared for. The house had everything we needed for light cooking and a comfortable stay for our human and fur babies.

This place was amazingly beautiful, peaceful and well appointed. It was a breath of fresh air to enjoy the beautiful Texas Hill Country from such a private getaway location. The house has everything you will need during your stay. The town of Bandera may be small but, it has wonderful restaurants, friendly people and if you enjoy the outdoors… there’s lots of things to do. There are a few dude ranches in the area. And… if you don’t mind driving a little… San Antonio, Austin, Boerne, Fredericksburg, etc. aren’t far away. You will not be disappointed staying here. Tranquil serenity and privacy are this place’s super powers.

We have really enjoyed our stay at the ranch, it was a great experience! The house has been finely refurbished to conserve that far west atmosphere while being very comfortable. Thank you!

This place was beyond our expectations! The home was pristine, and the friendly donkeys made the experience even more special. Will absolutely come back if in the area again! This place was amazing! Seriously the donkeys were the cutest and most friendly animals and we loved playing games on the porch and having them watch us threw the gates and braying at us ?

Wow! What a fabulous slice of heaven out in Bandera, Texas! The property was beautiful, the amenities were stellar, and the antique tub out on the back patio was a once in a lifetime experience!! I LOVED IT!!! These owners simply KNOCKED it out of the park with that addition!! I cannot say enough about the warmth, cuteness and how amazingly the ranch was decorated! These owners have a FABULOUS sense of style to say the least!! The ranch is close to shopping, antiquing, dining and only minutes from the state park where Lynn (my new best friend) and I took a 2 hour horse ride with Tawnie @ Outlaw Outfitters. What a truly wonderful experience! I am absolutely in love with this place!! Thank you for sharing!!! I feel truly blessed, relaxed and balanced again!! This amazing slice of heaven was all my soul needed!!! I will definitely be back!!!! Cheers to BANDERA!!

My wife and I were long overdue for a couple days free from hustle and bustle of life so we went to our preferred escape……….Bandera. I found this wonderful place although it was a first at this particular location, it won’t be our last. My wife and I loved the place and are looking forward to the very next opportunity to stay here again.
