Description

With two miles of river frontage, the South Llano River State Park 50 miles southwest of Mason offers family fun on the water! The river itself is spring-fed and slow-flowing, perfect for swimming, tubing, kayaking, and canoeing (you’re free to bring your own tubes, or rent them on-site). There are plenty of spots for fishing, too, with no license needed to fish in a state park. Back on dry land, there are almost 23 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, and its 2,600 acres are great for wildlife watching, too! The park is open daily, and adult admission (13 and over) is $5.00. Kids 12 and under get in free.
