Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm
Take a fascinating trip in time to a late 19th century Hill Country farm!

Description
The Johan Friedrich Sauer family settled near Stonewall in 1869 and worked a sheep and cattle ranch, while Herman Beckmann farmed cotton in the same area starting in the 1880s. Their original homes are now the setting for the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm, where you can observe how farms operated at the turn of the 20th century! Historically-clad park rangers share how the work was done, from milking and feeding livestock to blacksmithing, churning butter and keeping a clean house. The Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm is open 10 AM to 4 PM October to May, and 9 AM to 3 PM June to September, seven days a week.
