Property Description

7 Canyons Lodge - The Bird's Nest room sleeps 4 in 1 queen bed and twin bunks and has a private bath (upstairs)

Some of the most amazing views of the fabled Texas Hill Country are available at this family-friendly vacation rental! The Bird's Nest in the spacious 7 Canyons Ranch Lodge is an economic yet luxurious space for up to four people to enjoy-and, as a bonus, there are additional amenities available to you in the common spaces of the lodge, as well. With friendly Hill Country towns like Tarpley and Bandera-the Cowboy Capital of the World-close by, you'll get the best of both city and country fun!

Located on the second level of the 4,000 square foot lodge, the Bird's Nest Room is a great perch for bird watching and wildlife viewing, and the private lake nearby is stocked for a relaxing afternoon of catch-and-release (seasonal) fishing, too. Hike the miles of trails on the grounds, take in the breathtaking mountain views all around you, or simply take a break from your day-to-day routine. Keep in mind, too, that Garner State Park, the Medina River, and the Hill Country and Lost Maples State Natural Areas are all short drives from this location.

The lodge is a friendly spot where visitors can enjoy the numerous common extras here. For example, you can socialize with your neighbors in the outdoor seating areas around the "Liar's Pit" fire pit, or prepare a fresh-air meal in the BBQ pit. Inside, more elaborate meals can be put together in the enormous professional caterer's kitchen, and there are even private conference rooms available. Kick back around the two huge dens with fireplaces, and try your skill at the pool table. Large-screen satellite TVs with VCR/DVD players are here for your entertainment, as is the bar area. Don't forget to take a relaxing soak in the bubbling hot tub! Smoking is allowed outside only.

The Bird's Nest Room itself is a private space with a soothing color theme reminiscent of the area's bird species. One queen-sized bed, and two twin bunk beds, provide plush sleeping accommodations for up to four. The full bathroom includes a shower, and all bed and bath linens are provided, as well. Your room is equipped with a mini-fridge, and central air and heating and Wifi Internet access is provided throughout the lodge and all its rooms.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

The property is truly unbelievable- great trails that are challenging, nice/clean accommodations, breathtaking views and the wildlife is mesmerizing. The owner is gracious and generous with his time and ensuring guests have a great experience. Rooms with bunk beds are crowded but the outside is why you go there! Spacious common areas- beyond our expectations.

We love to stay where there is no traffic, (the further out the better!) If you like this kind of getaway, you still get a good feeling of “safe”, a taste of the majestic hills, beautiful, rustic but clean accommodations and still not terribly far from other nearby attractions. The Owner, the Maintenence managers and the Housekeeper all were so accommodating and welcoming. I had the hot tub to myself one cool evening in the quiet dark under the stars! Not sure I would recommend for real young children or real elderly as it is rough country and rustic flooring & some rustic steps, stairs & decks,(depending on where you stay) and loose elk & bison that roam that you just need to be smart enough not to approach and give them their space. I will go back when I can and bring the relatives!

My Son & I came here for our Mother’s Day tradition to go camping for the weekend. This place was awesome. We didn’t leave all weekend. Waking up to the views and the animals was nice. We adventured to the pond and both caught 2 open mouth bass. We enjoyed the hot tub, and the huge pool table. Making a nice bone fire and stargazing to wrap everything up. I would definitely return.
