Property Description

Some travelers love the Texas Hill Country for its shops, nightlife, and in-town attractions; others prefer the access to breathtaking views and natural settings. Both will love the fresh country air and farm-style setting of Lucky Star Ranch Shooting Star cabin! It has everything from friendly domestic animals that love attention from visitors to state parks and natural areas that are close by for exploration. Our "townie" visitors will love that great places like Bandera and Hondo are close, too!

The Lucky Star Ranch is a must for nature lovers, with its trees and Hill Country views! What's more, though, is the Hill Country State Natural Area is just three miles down the road; it's a wonderful place to hike, ride horseback, and admire wildlife. The Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park are both within an hour's drive from your cabin, as well!

It's hard to find a more animal-friendly vacation rental than Lucky Star Ranch Shooting Star cabin! The friendly goats, chickens, and ducks on the property love to be pet, and one of the "stars" is a dwarf Nigerian goat named Baby, who won first place in the Bandera 4th of July Pet Parade. There are horses you can pet, too, but not ride; however, boarding is available for your own horse. Check with us for details; a negative Coggins test is required. You can bring along a pet, as long as they get along with farm animals and are leashed on the property; limit one pet per cabin.

Amenities begin before you even enter your guest cabin! There's a shaded porch with rocking chairs for relaxing outside, perfect for morning coffee or a nightcap. Picnic tables and a charcoal grill are here for your favorite BBQ recipes, and a fire pit (firewood included) for s'mores and conversation. Laundry facilities are also available. Keep in mind outdoor extras and games are shared with two other cabins at Lucky Star. If you'd like to bring a larger group, the three cabins here sleep up to nine!

Golden woodwork and natural light fills Lucky Star Ranch Shooting Star cabin's interior, arranged in a studio layout with a bedroom, dining nook and kitchenette. The plush queen-sized bed sleeps two, and you can add a rollaway bed for one more person. The kitchenette includes a fridge, a microwave that doubles as a regular oven, a Keurig coffee maker, and basic utensils and serving ware. A Roku-ready smart TV is on hand, too, as well as Wifi service and efficient heating and cooling units. You'll have a clean full bath with a shower stall, and fresh linens are provided for both bed and bath.

Biker Rallies of Texas

Supporting and boosting local businesses and events is at the very heart of what we do at Backroads Reservations! The good folks at Biker Rallies of Texas are the devoted organizers of the most popular motorcycle rallies in the Hill Country. With major rallies in the spring and fall, they work nonstop to assure safety, organization, great memories, and a good time is had by all attending! They’ve got their start in 2000, when they arranged rallies in Liberty County and Kerrville, Texas. Two years later, they found their permanent home in Bandera. Let’s take a look at the two major events they currently host.

Boerne’s Hill Country Mile

In the hustle of modern American life, it’s easy to lose sight of an important cultural fact: it’s difficult to get everything done on your daily to-do list without a car. Too many towns have been designed with outwardly-expanding sectors of commerce that put one business or attraction miles away from another. The larger the size of the town, the more true this adage seems to be.

This sweet cabin is great for those wanting R&R, peace and quiet, away from city noise, activities, and lights. It's a "Dark Sky" kind of location, off the beaten path and maybe 2 miles from the Hill Country State Natural Area for hikers and horseback riders. The cabin is as described and pictured. It's efficient and the living, kitchen, and bathroom are surprisingly well appointed. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom nice, and everything is clean with special touches around, like soft throw blankets, extra towels, and bathroom essentials. There is a bonafide table with 2 chairs for dining, computer work, or other activities. The AC worked well and wasn't too noisy. There is a large wall-mounted TV that's easy to sign into and use. The porch also has two comfy chairs for sitting outside. The keypad at gate entry of property had broken when I visited so there was minor confusion as to how to get in. Cabin property managers are very communicative and everything is clearly explained.

Great stay off the beaten path. Place was as described. If you love nature this is the place for you. We had our miniature Dachshund with us. He loved exploring and he was a hit with all folks in Bandera. We will definitely be back when the weather cools down. Thanks again.

Beautiful place and perfect scenery!

What a nice getaway! We were looking for a secluded/ peaceful escape from daily life in the city that didn't break the bank and found this to be an Oasis for us. I have a 2 year-old toddler and that can present its own challenges, but the three of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hosts were spectacular. They were friendly and helpful. My little boy enjoyed the farm animals and the freedom and joy of being out in nature. The cabin was well maintained, beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the short drive to Bandera and to the Frio River for our day trips.
