This hiker’s paradise near Fredericksburg covers over 1,600 acres, but the centerpiece of the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is the huge pink granite dome itself, that rises 425 feet above the base ground of the park. Humans have inhabited the area for over 12,000 years, and in that time many legends, myths, and even ghost stories have become part of the dome’s history. Come explore their 11 miles of hiking trails, and savor some of the most amazing views of the Hill Country you’ll ever see! The park is open 6:30 AM to 10 PM daily, and adult admission (for 13 and over) is $8.00. Kids 12 and under get in free.
