Cook’s Slough Sanctuary
Home to some of the best bird watching in the Texas Hill Country!
Description
When you consider all the species of birds that call the Hill Country home, along with flight patterns of migratory birds that go over the region, you’re not likely to find a better bird watching spot than Cook’s Slough Sanctuary near Uvalde! The park is composed of 25 acres of wetlands, marked trails, two wildlife viewing stations (the area attracts a lot more wildlife besides birds!), and shaded rest stations along the trails, as well. Even if you’re not an avid birder, it’s a wonderful place to connect with nature! Cook’s Slough Sanctuary is open year round during daylight hours, and admission is free.
